HOWTO: Count Unique Values in a Column using Excel

I thought this would be an easy function to find, but of course, Microsoft proves me wrong again.

= SUM(1/COUNTIF([select data],[select data]))
Then make sure to use CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER.

This does not address blank cells.
